Condensers or capacitors as they are commonly known as are used in many devices and one such device where the use of condensers is of utmost importance are the air-conditioners in a car and the two kind of condensers used here are the condenser fans and condenser shrouds. A condenser is a very common and a very widely used term for capacitors. The condenser or the capacitor is used for two basic purposes in a motor circuit. The first important use is for snubbing inductive kickbacks and the second use of the condensers is to provide some extra current to allow the fan motor to overcome its own resistance to movement. This is achieved by the fan motor as the capacitor charges until it can supply the required amount of current. Then the capacitor gets discharged however, not unlike giving an airplane motor a ‘kick’ before it can start properly. When an inductive load is such as the coil windings on a motor, they are switched off, the properties of the inductor can cause a massive power surge. This massive power surge is fully capable to damage the control circuits. To reduce the intensity of such problems, smaller capacitors are put in parallel over the load, so that the sharp ‘inductive kick’ has a discharge route through the capacitor. And because the kick, as it is popularly known as, is a sharp voltage spike, it looks like a high frequency signal. If the capacitor is larger and bigger in size, it is probably used for the former. However, if the capacitor is smaller in size, it is used for the latter.
The condenser fans and condenser shrouds are two important kinds of condensers that find extensive use in the air conditioners in a car. The condenser shrouds are designed flawlessly and these condenser shrouds are made available in a range of constructions and designs. The condenser shrouds are made of chrome and these chromed components are designed perfectly to complement and fulfill the demands of the engine compartment.
